Mount Cole State Forest

 

Beaufort Lake

 




Located one hours drive west of Ballarat, just off the Western Highway, Mt Cole State Forest is 25 kilometres from the township of Beaufort and marks the gateway to the Pyrenees Wine District and the Grampians.




Great for fishing, water skiing, nature walks and camping, the Beaufort Lake has something for everyone. Situated right on the shores of the Beaufort Lake is the Beaufort Caravan Park.

Beaufort Band Rotunda

Ripon War Memorial and Park




Beaufort Band Rotunda, built in 1903 as a memorial to Queen Victoria. Restored in 1993 to its original glory. The Rotunda is crowned by a fine octagonal lantern with iron-grille decoration and a four-faced clock.




Located in the heart of town, the memorial was erected in 1927. It is a one-third replica of a memorial on Salisbury Plain in England.

Beaufort Market

Beaufort Heritage Walk




Happening on the 1st Saturday of each month, the Beaufort Market is set in the heart of Beaufort at the Memorial Park.




The heritage charm of Beaufort can be fully explored on the heritage walk of the town. Download the self-guided walk which takes about one hour to complete.

The rally never fails to impress with the collection of home and visitor exhibits. Lake Goldsmith is unique on the Australian Rally scene in that it has permanent sheds owned by club members which house their magnificent toys.

Rainbow Serpent Festival

Dynamic Flight Hang Gliding School




The Rainbow Serpent Festival is one of Australia's premier outdoor alternative lifestyle, music and arts festivals. Running for four days over Australia Day weekend in January each year, Rainbow attracts around 7,000 people from all over Australia.




Dynamic Flight Hang Gliding School has been operating full time since 1991 just out of Beaufort in the Victorian Pyrenees winery region. Dynamic Flight is one of the few hang gliding schools in Australia that operates year round.

Cave Hill Creek
